Temporary vs. Permanent
- Temporary - Color is added and removed after one wash. The pigment molecules are too large and can’t get through the first layer.
- Semi-Permanent - Made from polymers/vegetable dyes that will stay in the hair through a certain amount of washes.
- Permanent - Color chemically alters and binds to the hair. It decreases the strength of the hair shaft. Permanent coloring doesn’t wash out.
